E9 PREP PLAYERS DRAFTED INTO TOP TIER JUNIOR HOCKEY LEAGUE

Congratulations to our E9 Prep players on their recent selection in the USHL Draft. A total 11 players with ties to the Elite 9 Prep Showcase league were drafted in the USHL earlier this week. The Elite 9 prep continues to showcase New England’s best talent on the ice having THE MOST DRAFTED from any league in the Northeast and Massachusetts. This was once again proven at the 2024 USHL Futures Draft in Phase 1. 

What is the USHL? 

The USHL is a Premier United States hockey league, a Tier I top junior hockey league consisting of players between the ages of 16 and 21. Often, the league is a step towards DI colleges and professional careers. 

Seacoast Performance Academy had three players selected in the 2024 USHL draft. Timothy Kazda was the first E9 Prep player selected in Phase I of the USHL draft. Kazda was apart a major part of SPA’s U15 E9 Prep championship banking home the GWG and had an impressive run at nationals. The 15-year-old was selected to the Chicago Steel. Kazda has been impressive for Seacoast Performance Academy posting over 154 total points in 110 games played.  Parker Stockseth was the first E9 Prep goalie selected in Phase I.  The goaltender was selected by the Sioux City Musketeers. In his 15U season with SPA, Stockseth posted a 2.00 GAA  in 35 games played and was selected to the 2008 USA Hockey Player Development camp last season and looks to be selected again this summer. Stockseth was also a member of the 2023 U15 E9 Prep Champions who made it to nationals. Kole Hyles was selected by the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Hyles was a long-time player for SPA playing 156 games and recording 126 points.. Hyles was also named to the 23-24 NHL Central Scouting - Preliminary Players To Watch List! Hyles is committed to UNH for the 2026-27 season. Kole has been selected for numerous USA Hockey Player Development camps.

The Neponset River Rats has 5 players draft in the 2024 USHL draft. Marco Senerchia was selected in the Chicago Steel. He led the defenders of the 15U team in scoring with 24 points in 29 games during the 2022-2023 season helping the team to win the MA State Championship and earn a trip USA Hockey Nationals. Long-time River Rat, Ryan Staples was selected by the Green Bay Gamblers. Staples has played a total of 87 games putting up 84 points.  Grayden Robertson-Palmer was selected by Dubuque. Palmer who played for the Neponset Valley River Rats is committed to Dartmouth College for the 2026-27 season. Palmer will continue to play for the Rats this fall.  River Rats defender, Teddy Mallgrave was selected by Waterloo. Mallgrave is a 2005 and is committed to playing Division I hockey at St. Lawrence University for the 2025-26 season.  Incoming River Rat forward JT Rothstein was selected by the Chicago Steel. JT is being added to an already stacked state championship team for the 2008’s.

Boston Hockey Academy added three more players to E9 Prep draft list. Beksultan Makysh was selected by the Dubuque Fighting Saints.  In his first season with BHA, Makysh recorded 66 goals and 49 assists for 115 points in 55 games played. Makysh and his U15 BHA squad fell just short in the E9 Prep Championship in overtime. Carter Richardson, an alumni from Boston Hockey Academy was playing in the NAHL this past season. Richardson was selected by Waterloo Black Hawks. In 44 games with BHA, he posted a 2.07 GAA. Lucas Prud'homme who also played for the BHA from 2021-22 was selected by the Madison Capitols. Prud’homme strung together 66 points in his 46 games with BHA and is committed to Quinnipiac for the 2026-27 season.
